PUSO NG SAGING ( BANANA BLOSSOM)
Is a purple color , shape like a tear, that grows at the end of a banana fruit cluster.
It is popular in Southeast Asian and Indian cooking.. It can be eaten raw, a chunky and flaky texture.
.It is alkaline food, which effectively neutralizes the stomach acid secretion and offers respite from indigestion, ulcers and pain.
It is also rich and high in fiber and other nutrients. It works also as a natural laxative and regular bowel movement and good for constipation
It is also rich in potassium, and lots of vitamin such as A, C,E, a good source of fatty acid, flavonoids, saponin, essential and non essential amino acids.
Banana flower is a good source of antioxidant. making it ideal for cell health and anti ageing.
It is also beneficial to balances out the blood sugar levels in the body.
It can maintain a normal level of sodium in blood and and thus reduce and maintain near to normal blood pressure
In the PHILIPPINES it is popular in mostly Filipino household cuisine.. here is one of the popular dishes of banana blossom, we call it.. GINATAANG PUSO NG SAGING or BANANA BLOSSOM WITH COCONUT MILK.
you will need:
banana blossom
pork meat
garlic
onion
salt to taste
pork cube
black pepper
red chili
coconut milk
Remove the outer part of the banana blossom, and slice thinly
put some amount of salt and knead it to remove the resin and wash it thoroughly in running water.
Sautee all the ingredient pork meat first until it become crispy, set aside the meat and follow the onion, garlic, banana blossom, put some salt black pepper water cover for 2 to 3 minutes. and put the coconut milk wait till the sauce get thicken and there you have it...perfect partner with rice..
